South Cape Has One Bike Night Before February. The Rest of Fall Runs on Smaller Things.

Cape Coral Bike Night returns to SE 47th Terrace on Saturday, October 10, and then it's gone until February 13, 2027. The official schedule lists only three dates for the 2026–27 season: October 10, February 13, and April 10. For anyone in South Cape, that turns October 10 into the one big street night of the fall. Every other weekend between now and February depends on things that happen weekly, monthly, or every day.

Those smaller things changed a lot this summer. New restaurants opened along Cape Coral Parkway and SE 47th Street in August and September, and September is what the News-Press called a "notoriously slow month for restaurants." A well-known music venue on SE 47th Terrace got a new owner. On the river, Jaycee Park has been open since April with almost everything it was rebuilt to offer. The fall you'll actually live in South Cape is built from these pieces.

October 10 is the night to plan around

The City's September 18 announcement lays out the details. Bike Night runs 5 to 10 p.m. on SE 47th Terrace, Hairdaze is the headliner, and the Slow Bike Race starts at 8 p.m. The Cape Coral Parks & Recreation Department presents the event. If you've been relying on an older calendar, the Cape Coral Chamber's Bike Night page still lists the February and April 2026 dates. The official Bike Night site and the City's release have the current season.

The next one is four months away, so October 10 is the night to invite friends, book a table nearby, or plan your parking. After that, the Terrace goes back to its everyday pace until mid-February.

What fills the weeks between

Here's the South Cape and riverfront calendar for October, with the recurring events alongside the one-time ones.

Date Event Where Details
Saturdays, 8 a.m.–1 p.m. Cape Coral Farmers' Market Club Square, SE 47th Terrace and SE 10th Place Weekly; the Chamber lists October 3 as the next date
Saturday, Oct. 10, 5–10 p.m. Cape Coral Bike Night SE 47th Terrace Hairdaze headlines; Slow Bike Race at 8 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 17 Una Bella grand opening 1232 Cape Coral Parkway Already open in a soft opening
Wednesday, Oct. 21, 4–7 p.m. Sunset Fest Four Freedoms Park, 4818 Tarpon Ct. Free entry and parking
Tuesday, Oct. 27, 7 p.m. Glide and Groove Line Dance Social Four Freedoms Park Monthly social

The farmers' market is the steady piece. The Chamber organizes it every Saturday at Club Square, and it runs every week, so you never have to wait months for the next one.

Four Freedoms Park supplies the two midweek evenings. Sunset Fest on October 21 is a free three-hour event with live music, local vendors, and food trucks, and the park's announcement makes a point of the sunset over the water. As of September 30, the park was still recruiting food trucks and vendors at 239-574-0804, so the final lineup may not be set until close to the date.

The line dance social is the same idea on a smaller scale. When the park promoted the September 29 session, it ran 7 to 10 p.m. for $7, with light snacks, BYOB, and boots and western wear optional. The City calendar lists the next one for October 27 at 7 p.m. If October follows September, expect the same format, but check the park's page for the October price and hours.

The Parkway added new places while it was quiet

Most restaurants open in time for season. The ones in and around South Cape opened in the slow months instead, so they've already been running for a while by the time the calendar fills up. The News-Press roundup on September 26 opened with the line "Nobody told Cape Coral" and listed five recent openings across the city. Several are in or near South Cape:

  • Rosé Modern Mediterranean, 1507 SE 47th St., opened August 27.
  • Mobz Eatery, 1625 Cape Coral Parkway, Suite 103, opened its South Cape restaurant September 5.
  • Una Bella, 1232 Cape Coral Parkway, is a fast-casual spot for pizza, subs, and wings in the former Lehne Burger space. It's in a soft opening now, with a grand opening set for October 17.
  • Luna Creamery & Sweets, 1127 Del Prado Blvd. S., opened September 3.
  • Luigi Ristorante Italiano, 3816 Chiquita Blvd. S., reopened September 18 in the space that used to hold Gulyas-Factory and Amy's Winehouse.

Luigi's story shows how quickly things moved. Chef Luigi Vasconez closed his five-year-old restaurant on Del Prado Boulevard and was back at work in a new location a few weeks later, according to the News-Press. Gulyas-Factory and Amy's Winehouse served their last day on Saturday, August 29, Luigi reopened there on September 18, so the space was empty for only a few weeks.

This matters for October because these places don't depend on the event calendar. On a Saturday with no Bike Night, you can still have dinner at Rosé after the morning market, pick up pizza at Una Bella, or get dessert at Luna Creamery. The new tables give the slow stretch between big events something to do.

Cape Cabaret gets a new owner

The other big change on the Terrace is about live music. On August 26, Cape Cabaret announced it had been sold to Amy Ginsburg, the former CEO of the Southwest Florida Symphony, and she took over the venue on Tuesday, September 1. The News-Press described it as one of "South Cape's most popular concert venues." Earlier that month, the paper had reported that the previous owners were retiring and selling the venue at Vincennes and SE 47th Terrace.

For South Cape, a sale can mean a venue closes and goes dark for a while. This one went straight to an owner with a background in local music, and the handoff came days after the announcement. If you've been to shows there before, this fall is when the venue's new management starts showing what it plans to do.

Jaycee Park is open, but its food plan isn't settled

On the river, Jaycee Park reopened on Thursday, April 30, after a major renovation. The rebuilt park includes:

  1. A lighted riverfront boardwalk and overlook
  2. Upgraded pathways with cooling misters
  3. A large inclusive playground and adult changing stations
  4. A 5,000-square-foot splash pad
  5. Shaded picnic areas and a bandshell for performances
  6. Cornhole, pool, and shuffleboard tables, plus beach volleyball courts

The City's media-tour notice and facility-booking record give the address as 4125 SE 20th Place. The April reopening release listed a slightly different number, so if you're using a map app, use 4125.

Food is the missing piece. The park's dedicated food truck court is still marked "coming soon" on the City's pages. A food truck, a drink truck, and a dessert truck started operating at the south-side court on August 14, with a weekend lineup scheduled through September. A planned private restaurant and concession agreement at the park was canceled. City Council will decide on any future food and beverage plans at a later date. The City's October calendar doesn't list any performances at the bandshell yet.

That explains why Four Freedoms Park is hosting the fall evening events while Jaycee works best as a daytime park for now: the splash pad, the boardwalk, an afternoon of volleyball. If you're planning a riverfront picnic in October, bring your own food. The Council decision and the opening of the food truck court are the two things to watch for later this season.
